Shipping, Returns, and Warranty

Deliveries

For in-stock items, orders placed before 2:00 PM Monday to Friday are typically dispatched on the same day. Please note that dispatch and delivery services are not available on Saturdays, Sundays, Bank Holidays, or other public holidays.

Delivery dates are not guaranteed, and a parcel will only be considered lost or missing if it has not arrived 48 hours after the expected delivery window.

If an item is not available from stock or has an alternative delivery schedule, this will be indicated in the product description. In such cases, any delays will be communicated in writing within one working day.

We strive to keep our delivery prices transparent and fair, ensuring no profit is made on shipping costs.


Returns

We offer a 14-day no-quibble money-back guarantee for all correctly shipped goods that are no longer required. Please note:

  • The buyer is responsible for return postage and packing costs.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
  • Returned goods must be in a resalable condition and returned in their original packaging. Items not returned in original packaging will incur a 15% restocking fee.

Custom-made or specially manufactured goods cannot be returned unless faulty.

If you receive the wrong item, you must notify us in writing within 7 days of receipt. We will arrange for the incorrect item to be collected and the correct item dispatched at no additional cost.


Warranty & Returns Policy  

  1. Scope

This policy applies to all orders placed through the Recovery & Winch Ltd website (recoveryandwinch.ie). As online orders are distance contracts, they are subject to consumer protection legislation including the European Union (Consumer Rights) Directive and applicable Irish law. 

  1. Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)

Under distance selling regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, without giving a reason. 

To exercise this right: 

  • Items must be returned in new, unused, and uninstalled condition, in their original packaging where possible. 
  • You must notify us of your intention to cancel by contacting Recovery & Winch Ltd with your order number within the 14-day period. 
  • Goods must be returned to us within 14 days of notifying us of the cancellation. 
  • The cost of returning the goods is the responsibility of the customer, unless the item was delivered in error or is faulty. 
  • Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or proof of return, whichever is earlier), using the same payment method as the original transaction. 

Items that have been used, installed, modified, or are not in their original condition may not be eligible for a return under the right of withdrawal. 

  1. Warranty

Unless otherwise stated on the product listing, quotation, invoice, or documentation supplied with the item, all products sold by Recovery & Winch Ltd through this website include a 12-month commercial warranty from the date of delivery, covering manufacturing defects. 

This warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by: 

  • Misuse or use contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions 
  • Incorrect installation 
  • Lack of maintenance 
  • Modification or alteration 
  • Accident or impact damage 
  • Corrosion or environmental damage 
  • Consumable or serviceable components 
  • Normal wear and tear 
  1. Extended Manufacturer Warranties

Some products also include an extended warranty provided by the manufacturer (for example, selected winches may include up to 3 years’ cover, and some products may include lifetime cover on specific mechanical components). Where an extended warranty applies, the coverage, exclusions, and claim requirements are set by the manufacturer and may vary by brand and product. 

  1. Your Legal Rights

Under EU and Irish consumer protection law, you are entitled to a legal guarantee that goods conform with the contract of sale for a period of at least two years from the date of delivery. If a product is found not to conform (for example, it is faulty or not as described), you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund in accordance with the applicable legislation. 

The 12-month commercial warranty and any extended manufacturer warranty described above are provided in addition to, and do not affect, limit, or replace your statutory rights under Irish and EU consumer law. 

  1. Remedy

Where a valid warranty claim is accepted under the commercial warranty, Recovery & Winch Ltd will, at its discretion, arrange a repair or replacement (or supply replacement parts where appropriate). If a repair or replacement is not possible or not proportionate, we may offer an alternative remedy in line with the applicable warranty terms. For claims under the statutory legal guarantee, remedies will be provided in accordance with the applicable consumer protection legislation. 

  1. How to Make a Warranty Claim

Within the first 12 months: 

Please contact Recovery & Winch Ltd with your order number and details of the issue. We will help troubleshoot and, where applicable, arrange repair, replacement, parts, or return in line with the warranty terms. 

After 12 months (where an extended manufacturer warranty applies): 

Claims are normally handled directly with the manufacturer under their warranty terms. We can provide the relevant manufacturer contact details and supporting purchase documentation on request. 

Where a product is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, customers may be referred directly to the manufacturer’s authorised service centre for faster diagnosis and repair. 

  1. Faulty or Incorrect Goods on Delivery

If you receive goods that are faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible. We will arrange collection, return, or replacement at no cost to you, in line with your statutory rights.

We are committed to addressing your questions or concerns promptly and professionally. To help us resolve any issues efficiently, we ask that you provide any necessary information when requested.

While we expect our team to treat all customers with respect and courtesy, we also have a duty to protect our staff from abusive behavior. Any threats, abuse, or intimidation directed at our staff will result in the immediate termination of communication, and further correspondence will be required in writing.
